Gemmi adventure via ferrata - closed

Leukerbad has yet another exciting attraction. The new adventure via ferrata on the Gemmi is now open and ready to be climbed.

You can find it at 2,300 metres a.s.l on the historic Gemmi Pass, just below the Gemmi cableway mountain station. The new via ferrata is the result of hard work on the part of company Opal AG Inden and volunteers from the IG Klettersteig society.

The new via ferrata is not quite what you might expect, as it also contains various elements that are more often seen in rope courses. The 800-metre horizontal route runs beneath the Wildstrubel Alpine restaurant and the Gemmi cableway mountain station. Visitors can look forward to lots of hair-raising features such as the 65-metre-long rope bridge and the 20-metre-high ladder that turns through 540°!

Climbing equipment: Helmet, via ferrata set with breaking device and two carabiner with automatic interlocking system.

Additional information:The adventure via ferrata is only qualified for skilled climbers, having no head for heights. The ascent is at your own risk. Adolescents under 18 need the accompaniment of an adult.

Entry: The use of the via ferrata is at no charge,the Klettersteig association is happy for every collection, to guarantee the maintenance.

Hours of opening: Depending on the weather and snow conditions. Once the Via Ferrata is closed, it stays closed during the winter season. The reopening in spring is depending on the weather conditions as well.
